I didn't want to do the fighting myself, Jay my poppet. I wanted to watch from the sidelines and then possibly interject some tart little comment when the fever was reaching its peak.

Anyway, what kind of argumentation is that? If Carmen and I aren't doing it, then it must be crap? We don't wear crowns and ride around on golden peacock-drawn chariots, supping nectar out of elf shoes and laughing with husky abandon, but that's not because we've tried it and it was crap. It's because we just haven't had the time yet.

But on the PX topic: I've used five of the films and only uploaded two shots. Mainly it was my own composition I kept rejecting, so possibly that makes me the crap one.

One of the most amazing and moving pieces of art I have ever seen and having been to the Ukraine I can understand why the history lesson in sand caused such emotion in the crowd.

This video shows the winner of " Ukraine’s Got Talent", Kseniya Simonova, 24 Her talent, which admittedly is a strange one, is mesmeric to watch.

The images, projected onto a large screen, moved many in the audience to tears and she won the top prize of about $130,000.00

She begins by creating a scene showing a couple sitting holding hands on a bench under a starry sky, but then warplanes appear and the happy scene is obliterated.

It is replaced by a woman’s face crying, but then a baby arrives and the woman smiles again. Once again war returns and Miss Simonova throws the sand into chaos from which a young woman’s face appears.

She quickly becomes an old widow, her face wrinkled and sad, before the image turns into a monument to an Unknown Soldier.

This outdoor scene becomes framed by a window as if the viewer is looking out on the monument from within a house.

In the final scene, a mother and child appear inside and a man standing outside, with his hands pressed against the glass, saying goodbye.

The Great Patriotic War, as it is called in Ukraine , resulted in one in four of the population being killed with eight to 11 million deaths out of a population of 42 million.

Kseniya Simonova says:
"I find it difficult enough to create art using paper and pencils or paintbrushes, but using sand and fingers is beyond me. The art, especially when the war is used as the subject matter, even brings some audience members to tears. And there’s surely no bigger compliment."

*waits patiently for the riot, which is sure to ensue*

Thanks Loosetooth and all Polanoiders not afraid to initiate any reformative debates with the immaculate mighty tip of the Polanoid pyramid !

For sure ! this forum MUST be improved, partitioned, supervised ! and NO ! I don't think a 3955 humanoidic members community regulate itself just like bugs, butterfly's, bunny's, snakes and gorilla's in the jungle, it require the constant craft of fair democratic laws and an appropriate, dynamic ideal architecture interface which obviously is mastered by the administrator of Polanoid.net and only him without further notice.

When I read this newsfeed forum or whatever you name it...I suspect it is probably a master Artwork directed by weibmeister himself...
just because this long listing, almost cacophonies of various messages, technical advices, insults, cheesy announcements, rants, riots, complains, compulsive happiness etc etc really look like a Kurt Schwitters »link collage.
Almost the same syntactic aesthetic WM use in his "authoritarian RED" messages, were the weirdness of all those eclectic words, abbreviations, idioms etc all together finally seems to make more sense than a simple crafted and respectful conventional syntax.

I really suspect that one Sunday afternoon in his garage WM will copsy/paste and shuffle this entire newsfeed on a silkscreened Canvas then Fedex it to an Austrian modern art museum.

All my respect !
Polanoid is a great idea and I love as much as it will show me that its " .net " interface is not finally the instrument of an other " .com " interface running in background.

Thanks Jay ! :)

I am pretty sure there is some specialized guys that make rubber adaptator or custom smart accessory for peoples wearing glasses.
Did you try to spend some Internet browsing nights ? For you: »link or »link even knowing the complexity of four problem this might help.

You said "Range finder focusing is great fun" with the SE... but is the framing accurate as it is with the SX ? Because I am kind of super picky with framing and exposure !
As far as weight training Jay ! I hate specialization that is why I don't go to muscle beach but I ride everyday a 600pounds motorcycle so it might help.

Vooww ! Iam happy :) »link !!! (patriotic)
I'll be able to use cheap fuji films colors silk like my Polanoid Master the great "Ivan"

I am a happy man. »link (technologic)

you want riot? you talkin to me? you talkin to me?
:-)

( but maybe we should consider the fact, that a lot of people are just contend with posting their ( sometimes really great) pictures..without bragging about it...and i think that commenting some pictures is better than posting some "news" here. ( ok. i´m a lazy bastard, concerning this, too.) ( ah..has anybody an idea, what i could wirte, instead of "great?" )

yeah. merry christmas to you all.

Mmm ,sikost has made some good points, a few of us here post some great links to Polaroid and Super 8 stuff - no interest (with the exception of the WM ) - some are just content to post endless link to their Ebay auctions or exhibitions or they are in this magazine or that magazine and some post amazing pictures. It is mix but the mix is changing, I miss the good old fashioned riots, at least then people felt forced to comment rather than being part of the silent majority. Of course Polanoid is linked to unsaleable, to promote the use and puchase of instant film and cameras - nothing wrong with that in itself but yes this site does need some investment in terms of money and time. Enough from VF, how about some of you other lazy bastards (not including the normal active members on the newsfeed) saying something for a change. Hurrah and Merry Xmas VF

I will remove the posting below as soon as the first person feels anger creeping up the spine cause of it.
don't wanna risk esteemed member kalle being called ugly names again.
nono, this I certainly dont wanna risk.
I'd rather being called ugly names myself (f***ing censor) than risking esteemed member calle being kalled ugly names again.
jaja...
just say so, folx - I'm keeping my delete finger ready.
(don't want to have anotha riot mentioned in the wiki)

The discussion of the 'fake' SOTD has been a riot.

Clearly the shot is genuine.

The underwater case was made YEARS ago and shouldn't be a shock to Polaroid afficianados.

After looking at thousands upon thousands of Polas, y'all can't tell the difference between real and fake?

I think the real travesty is the number of horribly exposed, B O R I N G SOTDs awarded over the past months.

Stop bitchin' and start shootin' you fucking pansies!

Much love, as always, Mr. Brilliant.
