Miniportrait

This beauty was once found (and in many cases still is found) all over the globe in photography stores, passport photo outlets and human resource departments - very simply everywhere where ID images needed churning out by the thousands. It's design is such that all four lenses can be exposed at once giving four identical pictures split up on one Polaroid Type 100 format pack film.

But wait, that's not all! By ingeniously covering the other lenses each time the shutter is triggered 4 (or 3 or 2) individual images can be exposed prior to removing the film from the camera
Although this camera was designed with portrait photography in mind (I suppose the name miniportrait is a bit of a giveaway) but with a little sideways shuffle of the imagination this camera could be used for any number of creative results)
It has been described by some (ok, by me) as a slow action sampler on steroids but with added instant fun factor and it is a truly fascinating tool to shoot with. (It also helps build up your muscles when carting it about)

It's features include:
  • 4 (four) lenses!
  • Uses Polaroid 8.5 x 10.8 cm (3-1/4 x 4-1/4 in.) pack films (still available).
  • Has multiple exposure capabilities.
  • Shutter speed choices of 1/60, 1/125 and "B"
  • Aperture setting choices of f 8, 16, 32
  • Remote cable shutter release fitting (normally connected to the shutter release handle on the side of the camera)

  • Note: Some of the above details may differ on various versions of the miniportrait, but the basic design and function appears to be the same.
