the nice thing with 55 is, that the neg does solarize if pulled early and exposed to light. so maybe, due to the age, the development was not fully done yet and you got this.
(I once overdid the flashing of the neg a bit - and now I have complete positive slides :)

^ I think it must be the old chemicals not fully developing in the 30 second development time. Next time I will try and let the development go on much longer and see what I get. I haven't played with solarization on purpose so far, just had lucky (or unlucky) accidents.
