Yes I experienced that with old type 55. Somehow my negative got solarized. Maybe the fixer doesnt work well when old ??... Nice photo anyways :) you are killing it with the aeroektar !
^
I think you're right--the fixer component of the reagent wears out over time more quickly than the developing agent does. This leads to solarization when the image is peeled apart. I don't mind it when I plan for it, but sometimes it is not the result I want. This one was a total surprise.

As for the Aero-Ektar, I love that lens. It makes almost everything look magical!

Yes that's the way! Welll deserved, so original...

Thank you! The funny thing is I thought this was a failure when I first saw it because it was so far removed from the photo I had planned to make. But now that I've lived with it for a while I like it much better. That's the beauty of expired film--the surprises.

cruel beauty

And the irony is there was sun peaking through the clouds and it all looked so pastoral. The final result, however, was much different, obviously
.

(That should have been "peeking" through the clouds, not "peaking." Whoops.)

Thank you. I'm getting low on my type 55 stash, but better to use it up than let it languish.
