g., so wonderful. i've always loved those pictures that show the model to be on a stage, surrounded by lights, a tripod--because the model always seems so small, vulnerable, more human...
almost like we see better what the daffodil is in this one, if that makes sense?!

^
i think so?
life consists mostly out of out-takes, no?

Matchbox on book, too.

Matches go with packet of tobacco, of course. But also are important in history of printing, literature, storytelling. Matches to light candles. Light from candle flame allows early readers to remain with plot of book even after sun sets and room darkens.

And, sometimes, matches in the wrong hands allowing the zealot to reduce whole piles of printed matter to ash. (Burn an e-book, and it will bubble or melt a bit, but nobody will care much. Burn a paper book, and it will weep in pain, howl in protest.)

Partial history of the book, tucked into matchbox.

. . .

Small details. Still-life composition as layered portrait of self.

Or:

The Autobiographical Tabletop.

well said.

what kind of "domestos" product is this ? (in the video)
^
simply one that contains sodium hypochlorite. here, most don't contain it anymore, but domestos grot buster did (which is a gel, so one risks less dropping liquid on the emulsion side or furniture, clothes etc). in france, i think eau de javel is the more common term / product, but i think it is less concentrated (which maybe a good thing). the method linked was the safest use of it i tried so far.
^
or, is it just that kind of domestos twens poured on their blue jeans in the eighties, to get wild psychodelic white areas, if you were in that fashion ;)

Masterful. Quintessential homage to tangibility, process, creative assemblage. And to taking one's time.

I also like bottom left, bewitched and bottomless cup, linking this set, in a quiet way, with 4 of 444 (Careful Focus).

^
well spotted.

the book is worth to spot as well, btw.
it's about books.

nice making of. Very interesting to see the "behind the scene" situation. Should be a project : a picture, and how it was made.

true.

^
Soligor C/D ƒ2.8/135mm with built-in lens-shade (I'm using it as a spotmeter at the moment).
