^ yes, he must have retired from the dutch navy after worldwar II. the picture only gives hint on how frail and feeble he seemed to be. i couldn´t believe that he was going to operate the ship. needless to say, that he operated the boat in his sleep and maneuvered through the canals with the greatest of ease...
