first, i must bow to talent of isaiah zagar (as i presume he is the artist being showcased here), and second i must bow to you, My.Iowa, for showing his wonderful work in such a unique way.

such subtle blue tones in this depiction of these doors. it really is an excellent collaboration between two artists.

i've only found myself in Philadelphia once in my adult life. many years ago i was there to make photos for a Hilton motel. i was on the roof of some building adjacent to said motel (it was a rather decrepit department store as i recall), and my most vivid memories of that day include the scary elevator ride to the roof, and finding a bullet on that roof (looked like a 9mm to me - i still have it somewhere).

i do love this photo, and the art depicted therein. it's the kind of art i can do on my best days. simple. riveting, if Isaiah was lucky enough to see this photo then i'm sure he was happy as well.

(p.s. - of course my comment assumes that Isaiah Zagar is the artist of the face here. and hopefully he's the guy peering 'round the edge of the left door as well. i can imagine a most wonderful conversation between the two of you.

i kind of thought that i'd like to see these doors closed (more straight on) but after staring at this for a while i think i'm glad that i have only this view. yours. thanks again My.Iowa, for giving me a reason to keep coming back here.

how to reply, again? never will i be equal to your comments. for now, i will just say a dumb thank you, and tell you that i got to talk with mr. zagar--he came up to me after i took this picture, and asked to see it. he was pleased with it, and talked with me about polaroid film and cameras, and then i asked if i could take his picture! i will try to scan and post it in private for you to see. {but more soon...i do love philly, especially this neighborhood. x}
