i must've cheated - i'm down to 6 & now i may forever wonder what happened to 7.
help!

this photo hardly looked completely real on first glance. a closer examination (the light & line on the mural) tells me why.

you have such a natural talent for composition. makes me wonder about the time you spend before you shoot.

looking.
seeing.
composing.
and thinking, of course.

that's the best part. the thinking.

such a quaint little corner of philadelphia. if i ever find myself in this town again you must tell me where this is. i'd never attempt to make a photo here. i simply want to sit on that bench (that real bench) and think. i just want to be a part of this place. if only for a while. maybe i'll have a cheesesteak while i'm sitting there. i'd also like to touch the trees. in some small way these things would make me apart of this scene.

here's to the south side.
cheers.

i don't know but that you are suggesting a polameet in philly. if i remember right, it was so hot that day- i ducked in here for a minute of rest on a bench in the shade. typical philly- there's always a surprise mural or mosaic in the unlikeliest places! though i probably couldn't find this little park again, i would not be against scouring the south side for it, enjoying the italian market, isaiah zagar's mirrored mosaics flashing in the sunlight, and kids playing street hockey.

{oh dear, i always feel like something is never quite right. that day, it was so sunny, so the shifting shadows of the leaves from the trees really made this a completely different scene [as another pola i took will attest!] but i snapped this under a passing cloud...i wish it were better in many ways....}

This is seriously beautiful 669 work.
^

aw, thank you for that comment, and for the friendship. i'm being miserly with 669 these days--i'll be lost without those lovely blue tones!

just wanted to remark it looks like a painting... and then saw it actually is one! haha! good one.

(and anyway, i like these kind of trees. but it's no birches, no? poor trees, btw. who can get the idea to cement them in?)

^

yes, but the roots break through the cement, eventually. speaking of civilization: no, not birch--one of my favorite trees--the London Plane. i love when it rains, and the bark turns spring green and yellow. they always remind me of giraffes!
