The Camera: I´ts a swedish camera from the fifties built by an hungarian guy who moved to sweden named szabad (lajcsi explained to me that szabad means freedom in hungarian. all the better...). it´s made for 9x12cm, but works fine for 4x5". He built somewhere around 1.500 cameras between 1945-62. He also did some 5x7 and 8x10 cameras. it´s a wood/metal camera of the quite common type, but i love it dearly. looks like this: »link

I absolutely loooooove the hands. Hands are so underrated in portraits. Very original pose too, were the tattooed arms are both subject and frame. Again I am impressed by the incredible range of tones in this (expired)55.
