The Camera:
Iīts a swedish camera from the fifties built by an hungarian guy who moved to sweden named szabad (lajcsi explained to me that szabad means freedom in hungarian. all the better...). itīs made for 9x12cm, but works fine for 4x5". He built somewhere around 1.500 cameras between 1945-62. He also did some 5x7 and 8x10 cameras.
itīs a wood/metal camera of the quite common type, but i love it dearly.

I absolutely loooooove the hands. Hands are so underrated in portraits. Very original pose too, were the tattooed arms are both subject and frame. Again I am impressed by the incredible range of tones in this (expired)55.
