to some extent yes. if never a soul likes what you do, then you've done everything in vain. Isn't Art a form of communication? Comm. goes two ways (or more) as far as I know. To answer no would show egotism and yet again define the "elitist artist cunt".
In fact, artists should implicate the viewer.
