I'd forgotten how perfect this is.

She's looking at the horse as if it just moved, or whinnied, or something. Startled she is. A bit bewildered too. Fascinated.

Is that grandma in the background or just a passing stranger who happens to have a horrible case of pantilinitis? Either way she too is a key element.

Damn girl, you should take pictures more often.
Please.

^

how do i respond to such a lovely comment? just--thank you, so much, for your encouraging words.

that is the little girl's grandmother. the little girl has a brother--you can see his hand on the bench, within reach of the horse. i think he was planning to grab it if the little girl didn't. the horse would have been long gone if not for the grandmother, who asked me if the horse was mine before taking the sticky fingers of her grandchildren and walking away, down the terrasse.

i have come to see this picture so many times now.

you are a quick one... to capture such a moment.

love it.
love it.

^

one of the best things that happens here, i think-- when you find out that someone has been appreciating a picture you've worked up the courage to share...or when you tell another person how often you are led back to a certain work of theirs.

have i told you? i look forward to your thoughtful works, and make the most of looking at them while they are up.

thank you, thank you--
surprising things happen when you are preparing for something else entirely!

okay. okay. that wasn't very nice of me to mention mikaelkennedy's without mentioning rodeo's 55%er too.

but apart from this gravity inducement i think this is a fair shot.

which means i've nearly never seen better.

^

oh! thank you!

tell me, are you still in sincerity therapy?

because maybe you should go twice a week.

It's delightful you induced a trance state in the little girl with this shrunken horse.

Where can I get a shrunken horse from?

To bring you back down to earth a little bit, i think mikaelkennedy had a shot that won with 55%.

FFS woman.

Soft cheerful neighing can be heard from Poland. Hamburg and Crooklyn. (A wonderful cover indeed!)

i wonder what she thought. i mean, maybe she had a deja-vu, and had seen the situation she found herself in already a week before you captured the moment ;-)

(time warps always fascinate and confuse me to infinity)

^

i was in haste; many errors and omissions corrected now, g. -so nice to have some sentences from you--i hope you are well. whinny whinny neigh~

Congratulations!

(I was wondering, did you put the tiny horse on the bench, crouched down, and waited the girl to appear? Is this something like a princesses trap?)

^

thank you!

i did put the horse on the bench, and the princess came running out her tower there and fell under a spell. (disclaimer: it was not a trap! a totally unexpected interruption into what would have been a boring pic. princesses rule!)

what's the time limit on answering these, anyway? i put your comment in the fridge, so it should still be good.

As decisive a moment as there ever was.
Your timing and focus were perfect.

just so happy to have this indecisive memento of a place i love - and now there is another memory.

(p.s. i think the invisible lenses in your glasses need a polish. ;) just popping up once in a while here, like an umbrella...yeah.)

Finest summer dress. Naive and playful little horse. Trouble bound to be cooking.

ah, but add the eagle-eyed and kindly grandmother into the mix...
