I always appreciate the details of a mosaic making.
you know i love it and all the stories we have making them.
the troubles, the surprises, the magic of the film forming the piece bit by bit... it keeps me going and loving this form.

thanks for the story.

apart from the colours (which discreet use is already mentioned), i absolutely adore how the footprints may continue in the sky, imaginary (top right, F3, E5/6)).
and i love the center of the tree, which centers and calms the whole scene, like a real one. like trees do.

hm. i think i could continue for long. in the end, this is an image, which, for me, greatfully brings to the point a certain feeling nature can give.
I'd love to stand in front of this, perfectly reproduced on about 4 or 6 squaremeters, so it would cover my field of vision.
and i'm not saying this like a certain 'friend' we both seem to have, once said to me.
honestly. wonderful.
subtle.

my compliments,
gerald

^
thank you so much for your words gerald, they echo my thoughts on the piece very much.

yes, the footprints were a beautiful surprise that day and the sky recalls them gently, so well put my friend.

i would love to produce this so it would be huge and able to dominate the field of vision. i think of barnet newmans enormous paintings with the zips. or rothko's work.

always a pleasure and a treat to hear from you ;)

reminds me on a placebo-song-text:
"...reminds me of the summertime,
on this winters day..." (the bitter end)

^
nice, i like that ;)

alright!!! different than the other huge ones you've done.
i enjoy the mood and colors of this piece of art.
winter trees are just the best for mosaics!!
and like i said already, fresh wind on polanoid!! and even more with this winter composite when the hot summer is arriving.

I'm a fan you know that...

the color palette was so beautiful and minimal on this piece, i just loved putting it together and seeing it form.

i had delayed it till recently because i hadn't shot enough of the snow, ground to complete. so wouldnt you know it it never snowed again for me to finish it, so it sat on my desk- waiting! so i decide to make the sky larger and drop the tree a row. the top right tree was to be in the same line as the center tree. when i did that i loved it even more... thought you would appreciate that story ;)

thank you!

Urizen
Wow, those colors are marvellous, seem almost black and white! Perfect capture of winter
^
Thanks Urizen, the palette is so seductive and cold- i love it also. yes, looks black and white - maybe that is what gives it a tension.

ps/ i am finally getting your piece back from the framer soon! i am so excited.

ow--straight to the heart! those footprints in the snow, and that little glimpse of cold blue water...

^
something about trees in winter...holding on. the tracks, yes, that was what this needed to tie the ground to the sky.

;)

Thanks!
