^ This was an attempt to multiply the traces that conform a photo. Normally, a photo is made by the trace light leaves on the sensitive paper (one single trace). This pola was made by taking a digital picture, printing in on transparent sheet and erasing the ink of the sheet with my fingers and water. Then this picture was re-lighted and i took a pola of it, pressing the pola and allowing some light leaks. Long explanation for a not very sharp method, but i'm working on it... |

i agree with Esther, not on her (un)imaginative er... (f)art philosophies or esoteric rants but in her profound comment down there.
your work has always blown me away, as well as your eagerness to share those sophisticated tech notes with all. this image and the others that related, are quintessential Urizen masterpieces.
even if i knew the exact technique and you made a video and posted it on youtube for the world to see- i still would be amazed and inspired.
picasso used paint and canvass most of the time, but that takes none of the mystery away from his ingenious skill- for me.

What HAVE you been up to? Eating molten lava again? I told you about that.
I think the mystery of how you did your shots adds to the... sense of mystery. But as soon as I think that, I want to spoil the mystery by finding out how you did it. And then afterwards, once I know, I feel sad that the mystery has gone, but impressed by your inventiveness. And then I want to beat you with tuna.
I always tell people how I do tricksy stuff, if they ask. (They can't understand my explanations though, because noone seems to try it out.)
