Then I'm a fool too, booombooom!

(I also enjoy how people in the street look at you *not* as if you are holding a 40 year old camera but as if you are holding a *100* year old camera, something bizarre with bellows that the Victorians probably used once upon a time.)

^
THEY used it way more (considering the consciousness of) and in a way more appreciated way than the people today.
I'd say.
Throwing a thesis in the room.

(considering the 40vs100 - I guess that's just because today's articles have a up-to-date value of just nearly the warranty time. short after, the get broke anyway.
sidenote:
the german tax office just decided, that from the following year on, every thing between 151 and 1000 euro you buy and want to put in your taxes, will have to get taxed for five years.
Hm. I would like to know where they get their stuff.)

reminds me how great it is, to shot with my metal body polaroid automatic's... they're definitly great tools. and beautifull machines. i really love ALL the steps : cleaning the rolls, loading films, opening the camera, framing, peeling the film etc... and after that, if the picture is good, it gave me an instant happyness moment... and if the picture is bad, the pleasure was in taking picture, having a beautiful camera in my hands.... but maybe i'm a fool.

what a nice view and philosophy. Indeed, I have a similar one about faults and accepting, and share with Lea a very special one about pictures that don't come out at all. But I also remember situations where you are just whereever, with just THAT camera and that DAMNED thing DOES NOT WORK.

on a sidenote: this is a 340 with a plastic body. well chosen: I had (just) a 340 myself for over ten years (how it all started...). It got broke more and more, so I looked around, got a 250 (plusplusplus). But I have to say - despite the fact of the screwmount for the tripod (and I hate tripod anyway for a reason that will become obvious after a few words), it is just looking good, but: a.) damned heavy if you take it with you all the time (travelling in particular), b.) films get cold way sooner at low temperatures outside and c.) the 340 is just the most advanced land that has a mechanical timer. love that.
oh, and I hate the Zeiss finder. I guess if it would't carry the name, there wouldn't be such a hype about it. I am German, I am allowed to say that ;-)

I hope we are all fools.
