no. . it's absolutely random. . . you're better off paying what you can afford and being happy that you have a great camera. sometimes, however, you get lucky at the thrift store. . .but you'r emore likely to get lucky from a neighbor or a friend with old cameras. i picked up an sx70 today from someone who didn't want it any longer. . .someone I bumped into, never met before.

I think you paid as much as you should have. Any more than that and you're just overpaying - competing with Asian-based buyers who are obsessed. The 690 is wonderful, but doesn't have quality improvements over the 680, which can be had for $250 or so. I just want one to complete my collection! I've actually heard of $900 paid for one in the box. . .totally absurd. I've seen them $15 at thrift shops but acted too slow!

haha... you know... i have never seen anything good at thrift stores above some old 600 cameras... but i hear from every body they are the places to look?

haha... rollers are clean this was the only photo that turned out like this? i paid 350 us for it but they are going on ebay for like $700! i think i got a good deal
