lovely! that blue is really great and it fits the yellow/brown/orange of your friends:)

very painterly:)

Those moments did have special color mojo, yes. If I had any common sense I'd spend more time shooting photographs in twilight. Thank you :-)

by your comments.
don't pretend not to have figured.

Actually I wasn't entirely sure what you meant. But now that you've clarified I understand.

On the other hand, hell, I like those colors too ;-) It's nothing but a photo I took with the camera perched on the tip of one of my shoes (I'm a hip-shooter by nature) and I made pretty good use of the dusk twilight and those floodlights around the demolition derby arena with a lot of help from SX-70 film. I'm not sure this picture warrants a lot more comment-depth than, uhm, yeah, those are great colors and maybe, but just maybe, hey you shot these three figures from a neat angle. What would I write if this weren't my own photo and I were to comment on it? Heck if I know. I probably wouldn't comment on the colors or the angle, though ;-) Which pretty much supports your point exactly.

Ha ha, I think I'm a dork. Make a reference to my commenting and I start writing and writing and writing. Certainly nothing to be intimidated by! Really! Eep.

Kehre zu diesem und dem vorigen Bild andauernd zurück, bin aber eingeschüchtert dazu zu schreiben, the colors already are just amazing.

Intimidated by what? The photographs don't bite, you know? :-)

Great picture Ulf, terrific colors and texture. Have no idea how those colors came about, but this gets my vote.

Thank you, sir. The blues are courtesy of a dusk sky and the warm hues on my friends are courtesy of floodlights around a demolition derby pitch. Of course everything looks the way it does because I shot it on SX-70 stock, handheld, with a 5+ second exposure.

Ah, sweatbands. Sigh.

Mine were the color of my favorite Viennese football team. I wanna say the main sponsor's company logo was on there too. Ugly as hell, no doubt.

Ha ha ha hahahahahaha! I really had you going there, didn't I? Ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaa!!! Oh God, I'm so evil, I knew you'd fall for that bait. Oh God, sorry. That was very childish of me, wasn't it? Don't know why that makes me laugh so much.

Ahem, sorry. Yes. Where was I? Oh yes: they are not really doing away with latex. I was just fooling. You can put that razor down again.

Rejoice, rejoice, for latex is safe! Hip hip hurraaaaaay!

^
Damn you, Esther! All that blood will be a pain to clean up. Not to mention the funny looks I will get when I'm going to have to run around with gauze wrapped around both of my wrists. Maybe I should wear some retro sweatbands (I haven't owned any since I was 12 or 13) to cover up the obvious. *sigh*

Oh grooovineeeess! I'd like this to be a record cover. Vinyl. Sigh. SX-70. Sigh. Latex. Sigh.
^
Record cover, oh my. Not for a shoegazer rock album, though (as much as the perspective may suggest such use.) I should give John Zorn a ring and ask if he's needing any cover art for an upcoming release :-P

What's this about the demise of latex, btw? I had no idea. Why is latex going away?

gosh, this looks so special! i hope this phase won't end for you and your sx-70***
^
Vielen Dank für die Blumen, vielen Dank, wie lieb von Diiiiiiiir (die Stimme von Udo Jürgens das Titellied von Tom & Jerry singend) :-)

My SX-70s will remain dear to me and no phase related to them shall end anytime soon, but the film, Lars - the film! I'm sad thinking of low-speed integral instant film's impending demise. I'm gonna cry when I shoot my last one of those.

Every SX-70 exposure pushing out of one of my SX-70s is like a bitter-sweet little death now...I keep thinking "how many more of these until the party is over once and for all?"
