Speaking of John Hancock - I don't know who he is or was but isn't `John Hancock' sometimes refered to as a generic name in the context of asking for someone's signature? As in `Can I get your John Hancock down at the line there?' Maybe I'm imagining things, but I could swear...

^ ahaha. he was actually the first dude who signed the declaration of independance. being such, he wrote obnoxiously huge on the document, and so all the other signers had to write in tiny chicken scratch. appropriately enough this building is obnoxiously huge. but yah, the expression comes from that. heh.
