This hour is great in woods! Nice capture!
It would be better to be a sign for the birds: "Cross the road carefully, drunk and sleepy drivers are passing". Or is it too big for a road sign?
Have you seen any of those birds crossing the road? I'm sure they have seen you passing!
:-)

Thanks ksvks, I have never seen them crossing the road, but have been fortunate enough to see them in the forest a few times. I even managed to record one Lyrebird as he was going through his amazing range of mimicry just recently ~ (see & hear) here!
Cheers! :-)>

have you seen the video? uslan gave the link sometimes in the news:update section..
it's really amazing///

The Attenborough video was great wasn't it? I've been fortunate enough to see these birds do their thing in the first person (see link in my reply to ksvs above) I'm still trying to get a decent clear photograph of one to go with the recording of their song!

Aren't lyrebirds the ones that can immitate all sorts of songs and sounds? People better drive REALLY carefully there!!!
^
They're the ones ulf! I'm not sure if antone can get people to drive carefully. It seems once they get behind the wheel, their brains go elsewhere. In truth the domestic cat & dog population have presented more of a threat to these birds than anything else in the past. Thankfully local councils and residents have helped by ensuring curfews for domestic pets. We ourselves lock our cat up before dusk. These sorts of measures have seen the local Lyrebird population rebound, thank heavens.
