With Smaller Things I linger upon the concept of childhood wonder.
Common subjects, portrayed at the microscope, are recorded onto a medium such as the polaroid, further manipulated through the emulsion lift technique, increasing their abstract properties and structures.
The arbitrary choice of subjects, rather than categorical, symbolizes my childhood memories, candidly discovering nature and its surroundings. The method behind the process is meticulous instead, creating a playful - empirical dialogue which leads to the final product.
