"Our Balcony Estoril" - remade from 1972
re-shot photo from a found slide that was entitled 'our balcony estoril'. I found the whole box and it turns out that the two people on this holiday, the person taking the photo died in about one months time after this was taken. So I've tried to tinge the original with a note of foreboding to tell the story of what is to come.
The lady whose images these were was a fastidious recorder of who was in them, where and when they were shot so its an amazing look at someone else's life that is odd to examine as everyone in these pictures is probably dead and gone by now. It feels like treading on someone's grave. This picture is an image of how I feel looking at the pictures too...
