Alexander
I drove up into the hills to take his picture.

Ooh, I like that, that's a good start. Heh.

So, I drove up into the hills to take his picture, betrayed by faulty Google Maps directions, I got lucky and found the right road without too many switchbacks. By the time I found the place, the air was thin, and even the birds were tired from having flown so high.

But the trek was made more than worth it, because he had croissants waiting for me. Fresh croissants. MMmm. We chatted a bit, waiting for Allegra, and when she showed up, we all chatted some more, getting-to-know-you stuff, movies and politics and our personal art philosophies and the plight of Palestine and Tony Blair's replacement. You know, small talk.

Then we got down to taking photos.

But wait, there's more! This just happens to be the first person to buy one of my photos at last week's show. At the time, he was a complete stranger, who'd found me because of this here Flickr, how 'bout that? And, going back to the roots of my whole photo shoot philosophy, after the show I emailed him, suggested the shoot. Because deep down, I like meeting people, discovering more about them.

And so here I was, a week later, shooting a complete stranger. Two complete strangers. But more on Allegra later.

For today, Alexander, writer, director, and surprisingly, as he does live in LA and is in the film industry, is a really cool guy.

If, for no other reason, he, like I, really dug Crank.
