Thoughts of Foster
Foster was the first woman I dated after my divorce. She was amazing in so many ways that even simple things like our Sunday morning coffee provide me with vivid memories. She taught me to enjoy good coffee, quiet times and properly prepared bagels. She gifted me the french press, a Dualit toaster and a very nice burr grinder.

Our first date lasted three days after she answered her door wearing only a bathrobe after exiting the shower. We never left her apartment during that time. Perhaps it might have been best that we got to know one another first. She did not have the ability to have a friendly political discussion and once she learned that my politics as a combat veteran were far different than hers, it was over. She was unable to look past those differences and allow our relationship to grow. I've never allowed my politics to ruin a great friendship and I've never thought of someone who has differing views as "wrong" but she did.

I think of her often and when I walked past her favorite bakery this morning, this came to mind. She will always sit on my window sill naked on sunday morning.
