First and foremost, I'm a writer. Perhaps a poet since my collection of poetry, THE DATE FRUIT ELEGIES just got picked up by a small press. Second, I'm a teacher. I teach composition and literature at a small private university.

I've loved photography since I was young. I've never taken any formal classes. You could probably tell. I borrow compositions from film and comic books. When I was 20, and a junior in college, I bought a Polaroid One Step and began taking "Polaroid Art" before I even knew there was such a thing. I stopped taking Polaroids in 2001. Don't know why. After five years I've dusted it off probably because, like masturbation, I love instant gratification.
