10 years since I uploaded today's SOTD. That brave mule is still working to bring us some news..... But, just like the night sky above, the light that reaches us comes from stars that are already dead. The old man on the picture was an actor , Jacques Herlin, who died a while ago.

yep, guys, we are the last survivors of a forgotten era. Nice to have a chat with you.
Things would have been totally different, I guess, if the good old (?) polaroid company had chosen not to stop making films... It was really fun to chase opportunities on the web and in some closing stores... I also bought, back in 2006 I think) a huge lot of 600 films, bought also a dedicated fridge and also thought it would last forever...
i still upload here from time to ti me, only because it's an archive to my family. My older son is now 22, he discovered instant film because of me and all my crazy cameras, and I offered him two instax cameras and some films : he really does appreciate instant films, but he's not ready to pay 2 euros for one picture...
I do hope someone will keep on paying for the server (I think it's the good old webbo, bless him !).

arne and birdclaws, you are both right. The truth is Polanoid was abandoned, like an old ship not worth it, and I think Impossible was abandoned too by the same people. So the old spirit is gone, and I don't feel like loving the new one.

really strange. The rebirth of Polaroid (being bought by Impossible !!!) would have been considered as a joke 10 years ago when everything was going to stop. At this time (go back into the newsfeed) hundreds of messages, arguing, fightings, weepings, for weeks and weeks... And today, as it happens, nobody here seems to care. Not even me. I sold 99% of my huge collection of polaroid cameras... Almost everyone has left this place. Passion has gone. We were a bunch of instant extremists, now we are only part of another business plan. We have cameras and film, but who cares ?

shot of the century would me more accurate

thanks G. and Valley for these previews. At last a square format for Instax film ! Just can't wait... On the other hand, the Leica seems nothing more that an Instax mini with an expensive logo on it.... But indeed, would all this have happened if Unsaleable/Polanoid/Impossible people had not kept the dream alive for some years ? Not sure...
