RE: reddude's question, I miss Black & White 600 film.

Also, SUCCESS on the 660. Thank you to EVERYONE who gave me some info. Holding the "flash-enabling" shutter button halfway down makes a small red light come on in the viewfinder. If I wait until that light goes out (which must mean the flash is charged), I'm then able to take a shot without the LOOOONG delay. I don't know how long the flash keeps a charge--more experimentation later.

Hey BCharlotte, Orezemit (GA represent!) -- more 660 discussion.

Orez, are you saying that the flash charges AFTER one pulls the trigger to take a picture, and not simply when the camera is at rest? Is that a quirk of the 660? If so, I'm going with BC on the whole "no flash" thing.

Hey BlueCharlotte, I adore my SX-70 autofocus, but I wish it had a flash.

Also, does anyone have a 660 Autofocus? I picked one up at a yard sale, and it seems to be working fine, except there is a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG pause between pulling the trigger and taking a picture when using the flash, and no noise at all. The Polas look great, so the autofocus is working? I dunno. Anyone got some perspective for me?

Kasie & I went up to Mark D.'s studio on Monday and took a bunch of pictures of his new painting (and a few old ones) using my Colorpack II--I just grabbed a bunch of old flashcubes off Ebay and bought a year's worth of 669 film. I'm putting those up throughout the week. Mark's started painting pictures with pieces of old Polaroids in them.

Dear ATLiens & extended Atlanta county residents,

MochaMatch is hosting an SX-70 Polaroid Show by Roi J Tamkin on April 13th. If you can't make it to the TV on the Radio show at the Variety Playhouse, maybe coffee & polaroids will do you right.

I got an SX-70 Model 3 in the mail (as part of my "Cameras that are hard to focus or use hard-to-find flashes" project, which started with the Colorpack II & the Big Swinger 3000), and Kasie's decided it's her favorite of all my cameras. We've been taking smeary portraits of shoes, trees, and flowers.

Rockmenow48, I'm with you on comments--if I comment "Wow!" I certainly don't expect a response.
